Boat Installation
old boat, wood, soil
Nakagawa river, Arakawa river, Tokyo bay

There was a small river in front of my former studio, flowing downstream every day as usual. A line moving horizontally in the vast Kanto Plain. I raised a sunken japanese boat from the river, repaired it with a shipwright to float it again, then brought in the boat along the river from the studio to the site of exhibition. The boat was carried from the small river in front of the studio to Tokyo Bay, and to the site afterwards. The boat tour, while making a video recording of both banks, took 12 hours.
